Who Is Russ Wicks?

Russ Wicks has over 25 years of experience in the racing world, and has competed in over 700 races. Russ started racing Motocross at the age of 10, and became a fully sponsored professional by the time he was 15. In addition to his race experience around the world, Russ was one of the first Americans to attend the famous Winfield Racing School in France, and was chosen as a factory support rider for Team Honda.

On June 15, 2000, Russ carved his name in the record books by breaking the world's longest standing major speed record. He piloted the Miss Freei Unlimited Hydroplane across Lake Washington, setting a new world water speed record for propeller-driven boats at 205.494 miles per hour. For this accomplishment, Russ was included in the Guinness Book of World Records, and was featured on the cover of the March 2003 issue of WIRED Magazine.
