Issue

You want to delete a user account from Autodesk Data Management Server (ADMS).

Solution

An Autodesk Data Management Server (ADMS) user account cannot be deleted, but it can be disabled. A disabled account cannot access the ADMS. Disabling an account retains the account history without keeping the account active.

To disable an ADMS user account

  1. Log on to ADMS Console.
  2. Click Tools menu > Administration.
  3. In the Administration dialog box, click the Security tab, and then click Users.
  4. In the User Management dialog box, select the user account to disable and then click Edit User.
  5. In the User Profile dialog box, edit the First Name and Last Name to begin with the string "_OBSOLETE_username_"
where username is the user name of the account.
  6. Clear the Enable User check box.
  7. Click OK.

Now, the selected account is no longer active and is restricted from accessing the ADMS. Because the first name and last name associated with the account begin with _OBSOLETE_, the account is clearly marked as disabled in the User lists.

Note: The same user name cannot be used for more than one account, even if the original account has been disabled. If you need to reuse a user name, re-enable the account.

To filter disabled accounts from the User Management dialog box

  1. Log on to ADMS Console.
  2. Click Tools menu > Administration.
  3. In the Administration dialog box, click the Security tab, and then click Users.
  4. In the User Management dialog box, select Yes from the Filter drop-down list located in the upper-right corner of the Enabled column.

Now, only the enabled accounts will be displayed. Accounts that have been disabled will be hidden.
