Issue

You noticed that when you receive a license file (LIC) from Autodesk for your Network Licensing Manger (either from the Network License Activation Utility or manually by contacting Autodesk or your Reseller), you cannot borrow a license for more than 30 days.

Solution

This issue affects license increments for the above products that were generated before March 31, 2007.

To obtain a corrected increment that will enable you to borrow a license for up to six months, use the Network License Activation Utility, visit http://register.autodesk.com/, contact your Reseller, or contact the Autodesk Authorization Codes department.

To verify that your increment is affected by this issue

  1. Open the main license file (LIC) on your Network Licensing Manger server.
  2. Check the file to see if it contains one of the following increments:
    • 55800ARCHDESK_2008_0F
    • 55600BLDSYS_2008_0F
    • 57100REVIT_2008_0F
    • 57200REVITST_2008_0F
    • 54700REVITS_2008_0F
    • 54800REVSU_2008_0F
    • 55700REVSYP_2008_0F
  3. Check if the BORROW value is equal to 720.

If the BORROW value is equal to 720, you are restricted to 720 hours of borrowing (approximately one month), and you should consider obtaining a new increment in order to increase the maximum borrowing time to 4,320 hours (approximately six months).

Note: You cannot change the BORROW value directly in the LIC file, you must obtain a new increment, as described above, and replace the old one.
