Issue

You are using an AutoCAD® product and you want to know if you should install the latest Service Pack or Update. You also want to know how the Service Pack or Update should be applied.

Solution

AutoCAD® Service Packs and Updates should be applied to all supported operating systems and languages. To find out what issues are addressed by the Service Pack(s) or Update(s), please see the Readme file for each applicable Service Pack or Update.

As you prepare to install the service pack, keep these points in mind:

  • Custom files backup. Before you apply a Service Pack or Update, be sure to back up all custom CUI, MNR, and MNL files.
  • Administrative privileges. During installation, you will be prompted for the original installation media or network image. In order to successfully install Service Packs and Updates, you must be an administrative user.
  • Network deployment. Administrators can deploy Service Packs and Updates over the network using the Deployment wizard.
  • Service pack removal. Once a Service Pack or Update is applied, you cannot remove it by running an automatic uninstall program. To undo Service Pack or Update changes, you will need to uninstall, and then reinstall the product.

Note: Be sure to install the correct service pack for your software.
