AutoCAD LT® closes with a fatal error even when sitting idle

Published date: 2004-Oct-07
ID: TS100492

Applies to:
AutoCAD LT® 2005

Issue

After starting AutoCAD LT®, you receive the following message:

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0da4 Exception at 36007973h

Solution

This has been known to be caused by Windows® applications that attempt to change the appearance of applications' look and feel. One application that has been known to cause this is Window Blinds (http://windowblinds.net).

To avoid these types of errors, set the Windows application to ignore or exclude AutoCAD LT® from modification or updates.
