Installing Service Pack 1a if Service Pack 1 was previously installed

Issue

You want directions on how to install Service Pack 1a when you had previously installed Service Pack 1 for AutoCAD LT® 2004 or AutoCAD® 2004.

Solution

Service Pack 1a contains an updated Hewlett-Packard optimized printer driver that was not in Service Pack 1. Service Pack 1a will update any of the following installations that had previously been updated by Service Pack 1:

  • stand-alone installation
  • network administrative image
  • client installation created from a network administrative image

To apply Service Pack 1a to a stand-alone installation, follow the installation instructions that are shown under "Apply this Service Pack to a Stand-Alone Installation" in the Service Pack 1a Readme

If Service Pack 1 has been applied to a network administrative image and that image has been used to install the product on local computers, the procedure for, "Applying this Service Pack to an Installation Where Service Pack 1 Has been Applied" in the Service Pack 1a Readme, must be used to apply Service Pack 1a on those computers and on the network administrative image.

Important: Once the administrative image has been updated with Service Pack 1a, you will not be able to apply Service Pack 1a to clients previously installed from this administrative image.  You must first update all previously installed clients with Service Pack 1a before modifying the administrative image with Service Pack 1a.
