The platforms that are tested and supported by Autodesk for the latest release of Autodesk MapGuide 6 software are as follows:

Autodesk MapGuide® Author 6 (version 6.0.4.5)

  • Microsoft® Windows® 98 2nd Edition, Windows NT® 4.0 with Service Pack 6a, or Windows 2000 Professional
  • Pentium® based PC
  • 32 MB of RAM
  • 16 MB of free hard disk space
  • Super VGA or better video display
  • Mouse or compatible pointing device

Autodesk MapGuide® Server 6 (version 6.0.4.6)

  • Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server with Service Pack 6a or Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Service Pack 2 with Microsoft Internet Information Server 5.0 with one of the following:
    • Microsoft Internet Information Server 4.0
    • Netscape® Enterprise Server 3.6 with Service Pack 3
    • iPlanet™ Web Server Enterprise 4.1 with Service Pack 7
  • Microsoft® Data Access Components (MDAC):
    • MDAC 2.5 with Service Pack 1(2.51.5303.5). MDAC 2.5 is included on the Autodesk MapGuide product CD.
    • MDAC 2.6 RTM (2.60.6526.3) with Microsoft Jet 4.0 with Service Pack 3
  • Pentium based PC
  • 128 MB of memory
  • 85 MB of free disk space (plus space for data)
  • VGA or higher resolution video adapter

Autodesk MapGuide® Viewer 6 (version 6.0.4.2)

The three versions of Autodesk MapGuide Viewer (ActiveX® Control, Plug-In, and Java™ Edition) each were tested and are supported with different configurations, as listed below:

Autodesk MapGuide ActiveX Control Viewer

  • Microsoft Windows 98 2nd Edition, Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 4 or later, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Home Edition, or Windows XP Professional
  • 486 or Pentium based PC with 16 MB of memory (24 MB required if using Windows NT 4.0)
  • Mouse or compatible pointing device
  • Web browser: Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2 or Internet Explorer 6.0

Autodesk MapGuide Plug-In Viewer

  • Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6a, or Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 2
  • 486 or Pentium based PC with 16 MB of memory (24 MB required if using Windows NT 4.0)
  • Mouse or compatible pointing device
  • Web browser: Netscape Navigator® 4.77

Autodesk MapGuide Viewer Java Edition

  • Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6a, Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 2, Windows XP Home Edition, or Windows XP Professional
  • 486 or Pentium based PC with 16 MB of memory (24 MB required if using Windows NT 4.0 and Microsoft Internet Explorer)
  • Mouse or compatible pointing device

Tested and supported Mac® OS platforms:

  • Apple® Macintosh® computer with 32 MB of memory (64 MB or more recommended)
  • Mac OS 9.1 with Java VM MRJ 2.2.4

  • Sun SPARCstation™ with 64 MB of memory
