Object Enablers for ABS 2007 and AutoCAD MEP 2008/2009

Published date: 2008-Sep-25

Applies to:
Autodesk® NavisWorks® Manage 2009

Issue

When you opened a DWG file that was created in AutoCAD Building Systems 2007, AutoCAD MEP 2008, or AutoCAD MEP 2009, objects were displayed as proxy graphics and a message in the Scene Statistics dialog box stated that the Object Enabler was missing, even though it is installed.

Solution

In order to convert custom objects in a DWG file created in AutoCAD® Building Systems or AutoCAD® MEP, you need to install the corresponding Object Enabler, regardless of whether the AutoCAD application is installed. This applies to all AutoCAD-based products released in 2007, 2008, and 2009.

In addition, the AutoCAD® Architectural Desktop or AutoCAD® Architecture Object Enablers must be configured with NavisWorks® first in order for the AutoCAD ABS and AutoCAD MEP Object Enabler installers to recognize that NavisWorks is installed on the computer.

For ABS 2007 files

  1. Uninstall the ABS and the Architectural Desktop object enablers if they are already installed.
  2. Download and install the object enablers in the following order:
