Hotfix - Assemblies open and prompt to resolve files Issue
When you opened some assemblies, you were prompted to resolve links to some parts and sub assemblies. Solution
In most cases the file will be resolved for the user by Autodesk Vault. However, in some situations, the files are moved to a different location. If this is the case, you will find that after you open the Inventor assembly the resolved parts/assemblies are incorrect. To resolve the issue - Use a single project file for the entire vault.
- Open your assembly from the vault and check it out. If prompted to update properties, click either "yes to all" or "no to all." When you are prompted to use a resolved document, click No.
- In the Resolve Link dialog box, click Skip All.
- Your assembly will continue to open in Inventor and will show one or more documents as unresolved in the model browser.

Take note of each assembly that is listed as unresolved in the model browser. - Select Open from Vault and find the first unresolved assembly.
- You will be prompted with a warning that the file is already open in memory. Click Yes to continue.
- Click Yes to check out the file.
- In the Update Property dialog box, click either Yes to All or No to All.
- Save the file and click Yes for the assembly.
- Close this assembly and click No when you are prompted to check it into the Vault.
- Go back to your main assembly.
- In the Model Browser, select the unresolved assembly, and then right-click. On the shortcut menu, click Component > Replace.
|
- Select the assembly you just saved from your local drive.
- Save the main assembly.
- Close the assembly, and then click No when you are prompted to check it in.
- Reopen the assembly and you will notice that the original unresolved component has been resolved.
- Repeat these steps for each unresolved assembly.
- When you have finished resolving each unresolved component, save the main assembly, and then check it back into the vault.
Additionally, a hotfix for ADMS 2008 is available that will prevent the incorrect updating of references. |
