Adding new wall component to existing wall while maintaining phase settings Issue
You have a series of existing walls, and you need to add new components to these walls. For example, you need to add a new brick veneer to an existing wall. You want to know the best way to accomplish this so that existing doors and windows cut through both the new and existing components and the phase settings for each of the walls are maintained. Solution
There are two ways to accomplish this: Add the new component as a separate wall: - Add the new wall component as a separate wall and set the Phase to New Construction.
- Click Tools menu > Join Geometry and join the existing wall and the new wall.
The walls will be in separate phases, and any doors or windows will cut through both the new and existing components. Or Add a wall sweep to represent the new component: - Open a 3D or elevation view.
- On the Modelling tab, click Host Sweep > Wall Sweep.
- Choose the appropriate Profile on the Options Bar and apply the sweep.
You can then assign the sweep to a phase and it can be included in a schedule.
