Creating stepped footings Issue
You want to create stepped footings. Solution
To create stepped footings, you will need to use the face of the wall as a work plane to create an extrusion of the foundation as an in-place family. Modify the wall profile: - Select the wall, and click Edit Profile on the Options Bar.
- Adjust the linework at the bottom of the wall to reflect the steps.
- Click Finish Sketch.
Add the footing: - Switch to a plan view.
- Draw a reference plane along the length of the wall.
- Select the reference plane and enter its Properties. Enter a Name in the Name box and click OK.
- Switch to an elevation view that displays the length of the wall.
- On the Modelling tab, click Create.
- Select Structural Foundations.
- Enter a name for the family and click OK.
- On the Design Bar, click Solid Form > Solid Extrusion.
- When prompted for a Work Plane, click Name, under Specify a New Work Plane. From the drop-down menu, select the reference plane that you created in step 2.
- Create the foundation profile, using the wall steps as a guideline.
- Click Finish Sketch.
