Using Microsoft® Office 2007 dictionaries in Revit®

Published date: 2008-Aug-18
ID: TS1084902

Applies to:
Revit® Architecture 2009
Revit® MEP 2009
Revit® Structure 2009

Issue

You tried to use dictionaries from Microsoft® Office 2007 in Revit® products, but they did not work.

Solution

The spell checking functionality in Revit® 2009 is not compatible with the new Microsoft® Office 2007 dictionaries (English, German, and Spanish) because Microsoft has used a new proprietary format for these dictionaries. The French, Dutch, and Italian dictionaries were not reformatted in Office 2007 and are still compatible with Revit 2009.

You can use the provided Autodesk dictionaries or install an earlier version of Microsoft Office to use the older Microsoft dictionaries.
