StudioTools 11 Webkey Update

Recently, Alias determined that the licenses issued for certain Alias Studio 11 customers did not enable an important feature of this new release -- the new Rolled Edge feature, which includes the Fillet Flange and Tube Flange tools.

Who is affected?

All Studio™ licenses on Windows and IRIX platforms, except Studio 11 licenses with the Advanced Modeling option. Note: this issue does not affect DesignStudio™", SurfaceStudio™ or AutoStudio™ licenses.

IRIX:

Note: The IRIX Webkey file has been given a .exe extension solely to cause your web browser to attempt to download the Webkey and not try to display it. It is not a Windows-executable file.

  1. Choose a writeable directory (for example, /tmp) to which the Webkey application will be downloaded.
  2. Once the Webkey has been successfully downloaded, cd to the directory it was downloaded to.
  3. In the command window, type: chmod 777 IRIX64_webkey_st110.exe This makes the application executable.
  4. As root, run the application (IRIX64_webkey_st110.exe) from the command line by typing the following in the command window: IRIX64_webkey_st110.exe (you will need to type the full path in order to run the executable e.g. ./IRIX64_webkey_st110.exe)
  5. The Webkey application reports whether or not a license was successfully found and installed. If no license was found, please go through the Licensing section of the Installation Guide included with your software. The Installation Guide will take you through the necessary steps for you to obtain your license.

Windows:

  1. Download the application to your Desktop
  2. After the Webkey has been successfully downloaded, run the application (win32_webkey_st110.exe) by double-clicking on it.
  3. The Webkey application reports whether or not a license was successfully found and installed. If no license was found, please go through the Licensing section of the Installation Guide included with your software. The Installation Guide will take you through the necessary steps for you to obtain your license.
