Important: This update only applies to the Japanese language
versions of AutoCAD® 2008, AutoCAD® LT 2008, AutoCAD® Mechanical 2008 and AutoCAD® Electrical 2008.

Due to some link errors in the main Help files for Japanese AutoCAD® 2008, Autodesk decided to fix and re-release these files. The following is a list of updated components:

Installation Instructions


AutoCAD 2008 and AutoCAD LT 2008

  1. Download Autocad2008_help_hotfix.zip or Autocadlt2008_help_hotfix.zip
  2. Extract Autocad2008_help_hotfix.zip or Autocadlt2008_help_hotfix.zip to a temporary directory.
  3. Copy all the updated Help files referenced above to the AutoCAD 2008 Help folder in your install directory, overwriting the existing Japanese Help files. Unless modified, a typical installation of the Help folder would be on the following path: C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2008\Help
  4. Once this process is complete you will be able to access the updated Help components from within AutoCAD 2008.

AutoCAD Mechanical 2008 and AutoCAD Electrical 2008

  1. Download Autocad2008_help_hotfix.zip
  2. Extract Autocad2008_help_hotfix.zip to a temporary directory.
  3. Copy the selective updated Help files referenced above to the AutoCAD Mechanical 2008 and AutoCAD Electrical 2008 Help folder in your install directory, overwriting the existing Japanese Help files. Unless modified, a typical installation of the Help folder would be on the following paths: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ACADE 2008\Help and C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ACADM 2008\Help.
  4. Once this process is complete, you will be able to access the updated Help components within AutoCAD Mechanical 2008 and AutoCAD Electrical 2008.
