MapGuide Enterprise Server Service Pack 1 for Linux
We are pleased to announce the release of Service Pack 1 for Autodesk MapGuide Enterprise 2007 for Linux.
The main focus for Service Pack 1 is to enhance performance and improve stability. In particular the MapGuide team has greatly improved performance for Oracle Spatial databases. Initial results show that the times to rebuild maps have been cut by up to 90% on specific Oracle Spatial data sets, Testing by customers and AEs also validate these results (quoting Olivier Bucaille "a prospect has seen the Oracle access with an early version and with the Service Pack 1, and is ecstatic with the improvement of stability & performances on a huge Oracle DB"). Performance is also considerably enhanced in the Service Pack for the other databases supported by MapGuide Enterprise (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, SDE).
Among the more than 30 defects fixed in the SP1 are the following:
Improvements in installation and licensing
SHP file enhancements
Support for comma as decimal separator
Better server error reporting
Improved feature re-projection and selection
Support for Oracle 10g R2
The Readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of this service pack. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document before you apply the service pack to your product. For your reference, you should save the Readme to your hard drive or print a copy.
