"Error 404: File Not Found" during ASP Status pre-checks

Issue

During the pre-checks of the Autodesk Data Management Server (ADMS) installation, you received the following error message: 

Error 404: File Not Found

Solution

This error may occur if the ASP.NET Web Service Extension is not allowed to run in Internet Information Services (IIS). 

To resolve this error

  1. Open the Internet Information Services Manager.
  2. Expand the Web Services Extensions folder.
  3. From the right pane, select the appropriate version of the ASP.NET Web Service Extension, depending of your version of ADMS:

    • ADMS 2008 - ASP.NET v2.0.50727
    • ADMS 5 - ASP.NET v1.1.4322
  4. Select the ASP.NET extension in the right pane.
  5. Click Allow.
    "Allowed" should now be displayed in the Status column.
  6. Restart the pre-checks.
