| Disabling antivirus software for Inventor® installationIssueYou need to disable your antivirus software before you install Inventor® and you want to know how to do so correctly. SolutionThere are several ways you can disable your virus software. Method 1 - On your desktop, right-click My Computer. Click Manage.
- In the Computer Management dialog box, double-click Services and Applications.
- Double-click Services.
- In the Services window, click the Standard tab.
- Locate all antivirus programs.
- One by one, highlight each service and click the Stop Service button in the console toolbar.
- The service is now stopped. If the Startup Type is set to Automatic, the service will restart when you reboot.*
Method 2 - On the Start menu (Windows), click Settings > Control Panel.
- In Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools.
- In Administrative Tools, double-click Services.
- In the Services window, click the Standard tab.
- Locate all antivirus programs.
- One by one, highlight each service and click the Stop Service button in the console toolbar.
- The service is now stopped. If the Startup Type is set to Automatic, the service will restart when you reboot.*
*The Startup Type for most antivirus software will be Automatic.
