Pointer becomes invisible over objects filled with AutoCAD® Index Color 8

Issue

When you move the pointer over objects filled with a solid hatch of Index Color 8, the pointer becomes invisible.

Solution

To resolve this issue, you will need to change the color of the pointer to a different color.

To change the color of the pointer, use the method below that corresponds to your version of AutoCAD®.

AutoCAD 2007/2008

1. On the command line, enter Options
2. In the Options dialog box, click the Display tab.
3. On the Display tab, under Window Elements, click Colors.
4. In the Drawing Window Colors dialog box, under Context, select 2D Model Space from the drop-down list.
5. Under Interface element, select Crosshairs from the drop-down list.
6. In the Color drop-down list, select Select Color.
7. In the Select Color dialog box, under Color, delete the existing entry.
8. In the Color field, enter 252. Click OK.
9. In the Drawing Window Colors dialog box, under Context, select Sheet/layout.
10. Repeat Steps 1-8 to change the color of the Crosshairs. 
11. Click Apply & Close.
12. Click OK.

AutoCAD 2004/2005/2006

1. On the command line, enter Options
2. In the Options dialog box, click the Display tab.
3. On the Display tab, under Window Elements, click Colors.
4. In the Color Options dialog box, under Window Element, select Model Tab Pointer from the drop-down list.
5. In the Color drop-down list, select Select Color.
6. In the Select Color dialog box, click the True Color tab.
7. On the True Color tab, under Color, delete the existing entry.
8. In the Color field, enter 252. Click OK.
9. In the Color Options dialog box, repeat Steps 1-8 to change the color of the Layout tabs pointer.
10. Click Apply & Close.
11. Click OK.
