| AutoCAD® fails to start or Property Palette cannot be used after registry cleaner is runIssueYou ran a utility to clean the Windows Registry, such as Norton SystemWorks™, or installed AutoCAD side by side with an older version of the product. When you tried to start AutoCAD® or use the Property Palette, you received one or more of the following error messages: The A program name changed from a.exe to acad.exe FATAL ERROR: Unhandled access violation Writing 0x0010 Exception at 7c918feah FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Writing 0x50c52849 Exception at 6d0067h
SolutionThis error may occur if either the registry cleaner software has removed registry keys that are required to run AutoCAD® or an older version of the product interferes with the new version by overwriting the registry.
To restore the required registry keys, you will need to reinstall AutoCAD using the Add/Remove Program functionality in the Windows Control Panel.
