Importing Data from Land XML File Produced by Bentley Inroads

LandXMLImport.zip (zip - 1322Kb)

Bentley Inroads XML files add extra carriage return characters and spaces to all point locations and TIN face data.

Typically LandXML applications use the following syntax:

<F>2785 2784 1616</F>

Inroads uses this syntax:

<F>

2785 2784 1616

</F>

While this is a perfectly valid XML syntax, depending on the XML parser being used by the application, the extra characters cause an error reading the numeric values.

To resolve the differences download and extract LandXMLImport.zip. The file is located in C:\Program Files\Autodesk Land Desktop 2006. Rename the existing LandXMLImport.dvb to LandXMLImport.dvb.old. Copy the updated LandXMLImport.dvb to C:\Program Files\Autodesk Land Desktop 2006.
