Add menus to Architectural Desktop or Building System interface

Issue

You are trying to load AutoCAD or customized menus in your Architectural Desktop workspace and notice that you are unable to get the desired results. You also notice that behavior is not similar to vanilla AutoCAD.

Solution

This problem occurs because of a missing default workspace. You can work around this issue by creating your own workspace and then adding the required menus. Follow these steps:

  1. On the command line, enter workspace.
  2. Press SA (Save As) to save the workspace. Enter a name for the workspace, for example, My Workspace.
  3. On the command line, enter cui.
  4. In the Customized User Interface dialog box, click the Transfer tab.
  5. In the Customization in Main CUI File list (left panel), open the acad.cui file.(You can find this file in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Autodesk\ADT 2006\enu\Support folder.)
  6. Drag the menus you want, for example, Tools and Dimension, from acad.cui to a new CUI file, which is under Customization in New CUI File list (right panel).
  7. In the drop-down list on the left, select Save As, and enter a name, for example My CUI, for the new CUI file.
  8. Click OK.
  9. On the command line, enter cuiload to browse to and load the new CUI file.
