This update fixes a problem that occurs if you have applied AutoCAD 2004 or AutoCAD LT 2004 Service Pack 1 and are plotting through any of the optimized Hewlett-Packard devices, such as DesignJet or LaserJet.

Note: each computer that has had Service Pack 1 applied will need updating.

Installation

To update the hpgdi8.hdi file

1. Download the new version of hpgdi8.hdi into the folder C:\temp. If the folder C:\temp does not exist, create this folder.
2. Navigate to the AutoCAD 2004 or AutoCAD LT 2004 DRV folder and locate the file hpgdi8.hdi. For example: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\<AutoCAD 2004-based product>\DRV\hpgdi8.hdi.
3. Back up the original hpgdi8.hdi file by renaming the file to hpgdi8.hdi_old.
4. Copy the new file from C:\temp\hpgdi8.hdi into the AutoCAD 2004 or AutoCAD LT 2004 DRV folder.
5. Start AutoCAD 2004 or AutoCAD LT 2004
6. Verify that your plots are working correctly by sending a test plot to the affected devices.
