| Drawing Database Text Format Translator for AutoCAD 2000 This application is useful for migrating AutoCAD drawings from AutoCAD R11 and previous versions so that textual data displays correctly in AutoCAD 2000. The DBTRANS application translates textual data in drawings that were created in AutoCAD Release 11 and previous version so that the text displays correctly in AutoCAD 2000.
Specifically, DBTRANS translates accented characters, or any characters encoded as 8-bit values. AutoCAD uses the character encoding standard that the operating system uses, which can be different depending on the operating system. For this reason, text may not display correctly when viewed as raster text (for example, in a dialog box), or characters may display as question marks (?) in the Model and Layout tabs. Note that pure ASCII text does not need to be translated.
