The AutoCAD Architectural Desktop 2.53i Object Enabler is a freeware application that allows object data created in AutoCAD Architectural Desktop 2i to be accessed outside the AutoCAD Architectural Desktop environment.

Note #1: The AutoCAD Architectural Desktop 2.53i Object Enabler has two available installers, MSI and EXE. The MSI installer uses a smaller setup file; it's quicker to download, but requires a previous installation that used the Microsoft® Installation wizard. The EXE installer uses a larger setup file; it takes longer to download, but does not require a previous installation that used the Microsoft Installation wizard. If you download the MSI installer, and it does not work for your application, download the executable installer (6.94 MB) for the AutoCAD Architectural Desktop 2.53i Object Enabler.

Note #2: If you are installing the AutoCAD Architectural Desktop 2.53i Object Enabler on AutoCAD® 2000, you must have Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5 or later installed.

Note #3: The AutoCAD Architectural Desktop 2.53i Object Enabler can be installed on Autodesk Architectural Desktop 3 or 3.3 and creates a separate shortcut named AEC 2.0 Enabled Version of Autodesk Architectural Desktop 3/3.3.

If you start an Autodesk Architectural Desktop session from the original Autodesk Architectural Desktop shortcut, the DBX files associated with this release are loaded, and you have access to the new objects specific to Autodesk Architectural Desktop 3 and 3.3 as well as the commands related to these releases.

If you start an Autodesk Architectural Desktop session from the AEC 2.0 Enabled Version of Architectural Desktop 3/3.3 shortcut, the DBX files associated with Release 2i are loaded, and you have access to Release 2i objects, but commands from Autodesk Architectural Desktop 3 or 3.3 are disabled.

Note #4: Default installations of 3D Studio VIZ R3.0 and Release 3i automatically install Object Enabler version 2.0. This version of the Object Enabler must be uninstalled before the AutoCAD Architectural Desktop 2.53i Object Enabler can be installed.
