The Autodesk® Land Desktop 3 Object Enabler is a freeware application that allows object data created in Autodesk Land Desktop 3 to be accessed outside the Autodesk Land Desktop environment.
Note #1: The Autodesk Land Desktop 3 Object Enabler has two available installers, MSI and EXE. The MSI installer uses a smaller setup file; it's quicker to download, but requires a previous installation that used the Microsoft® Installation wizard. The EXE installer uses a larger setup file; it takes longer to download, but does not require a previous installation that used the Microsoft Installation wizard. If you download the MSI installer, and it does not work for your application, download the executable installer (6.67 MB) for the Autodesk Land Desktop 3 Object Enabler.
Note #2: To install the Autodesk Land Desktop 3 Object Enabler on AutoCAD Land Development Desktop Release 2i, you must have previously installed AutoCAD Land Development Desktop Release 2i Service Pack 2. Only then can the Autodesk Land Desktop 3 Object Enabler be installed on AutoCAD Land Development Desktop Release 2i, creating a separate shortcut named AEC 3.0 Enabled Version of AutoCAD Land Development 2i.
If you start an AutoCAD Land Development Desktop session from the original shortcut, the DBX files associated with this release are loaded, and you only have access to existing Release 2i objects as well as the commands related to this release.
If you start an AutoCAD Land Development Desktop session from the AEC 3.0 Enabled Version of Land Development Desktop 2i shortcut, the DBX files associated with Autodesk Land Desktop 3 are loaded, and you have access to the new objects specific to Autodesk Land Desktop 3, but commands from AutoCAD Land Development Desktop Release 2i are disabled. Customers using AutoCAD Land Development Desktop Release 2i can then open files from Autodesk Land Desktop 3 without requiring these files to be saved in AutoCAD® Release 14 format. By eliminating the need to save files in AutoCAD Release 14 format, the potential for data loss is reduced.
Note #3: To install the Autodesk Land Desktop 3 Object Enabler on AutoCAD® Architectural Desktop Release 2i, you must have previously installed AutoCAD Architectural Desktop Release 2i Service Pack 1.
Note #4: If an Autodesk Land Desktop 2, 2i or 3 drawing is opened in an Autodesk Land Desktop 3 enabled session of an Autodesk® product and then saved in AutoCAD® Release 14 format, all point object rotations that had previously been applied are lost. See solution TS66836 for information about this issue.
