Selecting Raster Images Made Easy

One of the drawbacks of working with raster images in AutoCAD® is that you can only select them by choosing the frame. Autodesk Map™ gives you a couple more options. Press the Shift key while left-clicking the mouse to select a raster image. Any image that lies under the spot where you clicked will be selected. If there are multiple images at that spot, all images will be listed in a dialog box, from which you can choose the image (or images) to be selected. This is very useful when working with large images, or when working zoomed in on one portion of an image. Note this procedure will disable the option to use Shift/Left-click to de-select objects. To re-enable that option, go to Map - Image - Options, choose the General tab, and toggle it off to restore Shift/Left-click to its normal AutoCAD function.
