Determining the installed Wiretap Gateway version via Terminal

Issue

You want to obtain the version of Wiretap Gateway running on a workstation.

Solution

Perform the following tasks to get the version of Wiretap Gateway running on a workstation:

1. Open Terminal and type:
   /usr/discreet/wiretap/tools/current/wiretap_client_tool -h localhost:Gateway
    
   Note: you can replace "localhost" with the hostname of a remote gateway system to get info on that system.
   
2. The output will provide information, including the local Wiretap Gateway server version.
   For example:
   
   Registered thread 'WireTap Multicast' [ 4316991488 ]
   Ping of host: 'localhost:Gateway' successful.
   WireTap server daemon version is 2013.2.
   WireTap node server version is 2013.2.0.2043.
   WireTap server name: smoke01
   WireTap server vendor is 'Autodesk'.
   WireTap server product is 'Wiretap Gateway Server'.
   WireTap server storage id is '078795A4-7FE4-4663-B816-70F61A58F9A7-GW'.
   WireTap server host Name: smoke01
   WireTap server host OS: MacOSX
   WireTap server host UUID is '078795A4-7FE4-4663-B816-70F61A58F9A7'.
   WireTap server metadata IP 0: 10.142.245.50
