Education Community Serial Number FAQs

You're a member of the Education Community and have questions about your serial number.

Where can I find my serial number?

There are several places in the Education Community where you can find your serial number:

  • My Software - Log into the Education Community and click My Software from your profile menu on the left.  The products you've selected to downloaded will appear along with the serial number and product key for each.

  • Download Detail - After selecting your product, your serial number and product key are shown prior to choosing your download method.

  • Your Serial Number Email - When you select a product to download,you'll receive an automated email containing your Serial Number and Product Key. 

    Note: This is sent to the email address used to register for the Education Community. If you haven't received this within a few hours, check your Spam folder.

 

Why do I have the same Serial Number for multiple products?

The Autodesk Education Community has simplified the Serial Number process. Starting on August 28th, 2012, Students will now immediately receive one Serial Number to be used for all products.

When you select a product for download from the Education Community, you'll immediately receive your Serial Number, which should be used for all subsequent product download requests.

Note: All serial numbers issued from the Education Community will now begin with 900-.

Can I also use one Product Key for multiple products?

No, you can not use the same Product Key for multiple products.  These are product and version-specific, and can result in activation errors if the wrong key is entered.

Why do I have two serial numbers for one product?

If you see two different serial numbers for one product, it is likely because you have downloaded the product both before and after the new simplified process. 

Always use the new serial number beginning with 900-, which can be used to activate all of your Education Community products, regardless of when it was downoaded.

Note: You cannot use an old serial number to activate a product downloaded under after August 28th, 2012.

How many computers am I allowed to install a product on?

With respect to Software downloaded by students, faculty members, competitors or team mentors from this Site, in addition to the terms and conditions, and restrictions set forth in the applicable License Agreement, the following additional restriction shall apply. You shall not install more than one copy of any release version of any Software product obtained on this site on more than one system at a time. For example, a faculty member has a desktop computer at home and a laptop computer she uses at work. That faculty member could not install a copy of AutoCAD 2013 on both the desktop and laptop systems simultaneously. She could, however, install AutoCAD 2012 on the desktop system and AutoCAD 2013 on the laptop system simultaneously.
