You would like to know what the differences are between AutoCAD LT for Mac purchased from the Mac App Store or purchased from Autodesk or a reseller.

Solution

There are two different purchase options for AutoCAD LT for Mac 2013.

You can buy a license of AutoCAD LT for Mac from the Autodesk E-store or from a reseller or online shop of your choice. This version will require a serial number and product key to install. A 30-Day trial version can be downloaded from here: http://www.autodesk.com/autocadlt-trial

This serialized version is eligible for cross-platform licensing with Windows. This means, you can activate AutoCAD LT for Windows with the same serial number, and you can use an AutoCAD LT for Windows serial number to activate the Mac version. Alternatively, you can buy AutoCAD LT for Mac from the Mac App Store. The Mac App Store version has the same features and functionality as the serialized version, however, there are some differences regarding Licensing and Subscription:

• The Mac App Store version does not come with a Serial Number or Product Key and does not require them for installation
• The Mac App Store version is not eligible for cross-platform licensing with AutoCAD LT for Windows
• The Mac App Store version of AutoCAD LT for Mac cannot be upgraded
• Autodesk Subscription is not available for this version.
