You are attempting to download the Smoke trial and you are getting error messages or the download simply does not start.
Solution
These errors could be due to problems with the Akamai Netsession Interface plug-in. The Smoke trial download page uses this plug-in to optimize the file download for you.
To troubleshoot the issues, start by reinstalling the plug-in:
If you are using Mac OS X Lion, open Launchpad and click the Akamai Netsession Uninstaller app.
If you are using Mac OS X Snow Leopard, open Finder, go to your Home folder, then into the Applications > Akamai subfolder and run the Akamai Netsession Uninstaller app.
Click Uninstall to remove the plug-in.
When the uninstallation completes, refresh the Smoke download page (you will be asked to resubmit the information). The following pop-up dialog will appear:
Click Download the installer to re-download the Akamai plug-in.
Reinstall the plug-in, restart your Mac and try the download again.
If the download still does not start, perform the following tasks to download without using the plug-in:
Perform steps 1 to 3 in the previous procedure to uninstall the Akamai plug-in again.
Refresh the Smoke download page. The following pop-up dialog appears:
Click the click here link at the very end of the text. The following dialog appears:
Click OK to try downloading without using the plug-in. The pop-up closes and a download link appears on the Smoke trial download page.
Click here to download without using the Akamai plug-in. This will use your browser's built-in download feature.
