Getting troubleshooting information when Smoke crashes

Summary

This article shows you how to get troubleshooting information from the Smoke logs when the software crashes.

Details

When Smoke crashes, the following dialog box usually opens:

Click Show Details to view the Smoke shell log.

Scroll through the log and look for any error messages.

If you are not sure how to interpret those error messages, ask for assistance on the Smoke AREA Forum or on the Autodesk Customer Support Facebook page.

If the log does not contain any useful information, or if the "Application exited abnormally" dialog does not appear after the crash, you can view the logs in the Terminal app.
See Understanding Smoke log files for instructions.
