Error "Object Library invalid" when running VBA applications

Issue

After installing updates from Microsoft, running VBA applications in AutoCAD may fail with one or more of the following errors:

“Object Library invalid or contains references to object definitions that could not be found”

"Cannot insert object." 

"Element not found."

Solution

This issue is caused by the Microsoft Security Update MS12-027 which was released in April 2012.
 
Microsoft has posted a solution on the Microsoft web site at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2598041. 
 
To resolve the issue, please follow the instructions under "Known Issues with this security Update".
