System requirements for Autodesk Showcase

This document provides the system requirements for Autodesk Showcase.

Autodesk Showcase 2014 System Requirements

For 32-bit Showcase 2014

• Windows® 7 Professional or Home Premium edition operating system
• Intel® Pentium® 4, AMD Athlon™ processor (or higher) with SSE3 instruction set support
• 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)
• 20 GB free hard drive space
• Certified hardware-accelerated graphics card with a minimum of 512 MB graphics memory (1 GB recommended) and DirectX® 9 support
• Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 7 or later web browser
• 3-button mouse
• DVD-ROM drive for installation from DVD
• USB port for supported USB peripherals and installation from USB storage media
• Internet connection for network and Internet-enabled Showcase features

For 64-bit Showcase 2014

• Windows® 8 Professional or Enterprise edition operating system, or Windows 7 Professional or Home Premium edition
• Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon processor (or higher) with SSE3 instruction set support
• 2 GB RAM (4+ GB recommended)
• 20 GB free hard drive space
• Certified hardware-accelerated graphics card with a minimum of 512 MB graphics memory (1 GB recommended) and DirectX 9 support
• Internet Explorer 7 or later
• 3-button mouse
• DVD-ROM drive for installation from DVD
• USB port for supported USB peripherals and installation from USB storage media
• Internet connection for network and Internet-enabled Showcase features

For more complex scenes

The above minimum system requirements are based on general 3D visualization use of Showcase with scenes composed of less than 1,000 objects or 1,000,000 polygons. For more complex scenes, the 64-bit version of Showcase is recommended on a 64-bit Windows operating system with the following hardware:

• Multicore or multi-processor Intel® Core™ 2 or Xeon™, AMD Opteron™, or Phenom™ processor (or higher) with SSE3 instruction set support
• 8 GB RAM
• 30 GB free hard drive space
• Certified hardware-accelerated graphics card with 2 GB graphics memory and DirectX 9 support
• DVD-ROM drive for installation
• USB port for supported USB peripherals and installation from USB storage media
• Internet connection for network and Internet-enabled Showcase features
• 3-button mouse

Autodesk Showcase 2013 System Requirements

Software

The 32-bit version of Autodesk® Showcase® 2013 software is supported by any of the following 32-bit operating systems:

• Microsoft® Windows® 7 Professional operating system
• Microsoft® Windows® 7 Home Premium operating system
• Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional operating system (SP3 or higher)

The 64-bit version of Showcase® 2013 software is supported by any of the following 64-bit operating systems:

• Microsoft® Windows® 7 Professional operating system
• Microsoft® Windows® 7 Home Premium operating system
• Microsoft® Windows® XP x64 Edition (SP2 or higher)

Showcase® 2013 32-bit and 64-bit software requires the following supplemental software:

• Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 7 internet browser or higher

Hardware

At a minimum, the 32-bit version of Showcase® 2013 software requires a system with the following hardware:

• Intel® Pentium® 4, AMD Athlon™ processor (or higher) with SSE3 instruction set support
• 2 GB RAM (4GB recommended)

Autodesk Showcase 2012 System Requirements

Operating System

The 32-bit version of Autodesk® Showcase® 2012 software is supported by any of the following operating systems:

• Microsoft® Windows® 7 Professional operating system
• Microsoft® Windows® Vista™ Business operating system (SP2 or higher)
• Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional operating system (SP3 or higher)

The 64-bit version of Showcase 2012 software is supported by any of the following operating systems:

• Microsoft® Windows® 7 Professional operating system
• Microsoft® Windows® Vista™ Business x64 (SP2 or higher)
• Microsoft® Windows® XP x64 Edition (SP2 or higher)

Browser

• Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 7 internet browser or later

Hardware

At a minimum, the 32-bit version of Showcase 2012 software requires a system with the following hardware:

Autodesk Showcase 2011 System Requirements

Software

The 32-bit version of Showcase 2011 software is supported by any of the following operating systems:

• Microsoft ® Windows® XP Professional (SP3 or higher) operating system
• Microsoft ® Windows Vista® Business (SP2 or higher) operating system
• Microsoft ® Windows® 7 Professional operating system

The 64-bit version of Showcase 2011 software is supported by any of the following operating systems:

• Microsoft ® Windows® XP Professional x64 (SP2 or higher) operating system
• Microsoft ® Windows Vista® Business x64 (SP2 or higher) operating system
• Microsoft ® Windows® 7 Professional x64 operating system

Hardware

Minimum/Laptop

• 2.4 GHz Intel® or equivalent AMD® processor
• 2 GB system RAM
• Certified NVIDIA® or ATI™ graphics card with at least 512 MB graphics memory

Recommended

• Intel® Pentium® 4; 4-core 2.8 GHz processor; or equivalent AMD processor
• 4 GB or more system RAM with Windows XP x64 Edition or Windows Vista 64-bit
• Certified NVIDIA or ATI graphics card with at least 768 MB graphics memory

Supported Graphics Cards

ATI Radeon™ and ATI FirePro™ graphics cards, as well as NVIDIA® Quadro® FX and NVIDIA® GeForce® graphics cards released after 2007 that include the 7, 8, or 9 series graphics chipset. Graphics cards must have a minimum 512 MB graphics memory. More memory is recommended on Windows Vista or for users working with large data sets or complex scenes.

Graphics cards include:

• 7 series: Quadro FX 4500, GeForce 7900GTX, Mobile FX 2500M
• 8 series: Quadro FX 1700, Quadro FX 4600, GeForce 8800 GTS, Mobile FX 1600M
• 9 series: Quadro FX 3700, Quadro FX 5800, GeForce 9600 GT, Mobile FX 3600M
• Quadro Plex Model II and Model D2 are also supported.
• ATI Radeon 4830 and 4850
• ATI FirePro 5700, 7750, 8700 and 8750

Autodesk Showcase 2010 System Requirements

Operating System

• Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional (SP 2 or higher)
• Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (Autodesk® Showcase® software runs as a 32-bit application on 64-bit operating system)
• Microsoft Windows Vista® 32-bit or 64-bit, including Business, Enterprise or Ultimate (SP 1)

Note: Showcase can use up to 3 GB RAM on 32-bit Windows XP (with modified boot options) or on Windows Vista 32. 64-bit Windows XP x64 or Windows Vista 64 allows Showcase to access up to 4 GB of system RAM.

Hardware Configurations for Autodesk Showcase 2010

Minimum / Laptop

• Performance may be limited in scenes with large numbers of objects.
• 2.4 GHz Intel® or equivalent AMD® processor
• 2 GB RAM
• NVIDIA GeForce® or Quadro® FX graphics card with at least 512 MB graphics memory

• Intel® Pentium® 4 or 4-core 2.8 GHz processor or equivalent AMD processor
• 4 GB RAM
• NVIDIA Quadro FX graphics card with 768 MB graphics memory or more

Supported Graphics Cards

NVIDIA Quadro FX and GeForce cards released since Summer, 2006 that include the 7, 8 or 9 series graphics chipset. Graphics cards must have a minimum 512 MB graphics memory. More memory is recommended on Microsoft® Windows Vista® or for users working with large data sets or complex scenes.

ATI Radeon 4830 and 4850 cards with driver 8.10 (October, 2008).

Example graphics cards include:

• 7 series: Quadro FX 4500, Geforce 7900GTX, Mobile FX 2500M
