Cursor unexpectedly snaps to the frames of an inserted object

Issue

In older releases of AutoCAD, OSNAP would not snap to the border of an inserted image, underlay, or clipped XREF, but in the 2012 (or later) release, you find that when getting close to the edge of an inserted object that OSNAP unexpectedly snaps to the object’s frame. Changing the values of FRAME or IMAGEFRAME does not resolve this issue.

Solution

Change the value of FRAMESELECTION to 0.

The FRAMESELECTION system variable was added in AutoCAD 2012 to give users control over the selectability of inserted objects.
