2013: Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Naming Alignment

You want to know what changed with the naming for the Autodesk Simulation Moldflow 2013 products and how the change effects you as a user.  You'd also like insight into why the names were changed and what the new naming means when mapped to previous versions.

Solution

The new Autodesk Simulation Moldflow 2013 products have undergone a significant naming change.  This process has seen two primary areas changed.  First, Autodesk Moldflow products have introduced the word "Simulation" to align with the rest of the Autodesk Simulation portfolio, such as Simulation CFDesign and Simulation Multi-Physics.  As such, all 2013 products will be recognized as Autodesk Simulation Moldflow 2013.

The second change is slightly more impactful.  It has to do with the naming of the license levels for the two primary programs available in the Autodesk Simulation Moldflow portfolio, Adviser and Insight.  In previous versions, Adviser and Insight both had different naming conventions for the 3 levels of licensing they each have.  These have been modified to align with one another to avoid any confusion that existed in the past.  This will allow a better and more transparent representation of the functionality available for each product.

It's important to understand, this is purely a naming change.  It has no impact on the actual license functionality that each level has.  The naming has simply changed to provide less confusion and improve product understanding.
