How to use your Autodesk software in a different language

Scenario

As an Autodesk Subscription Customer, you would like to use your software in a different language.

Solution

As a Subscription customer, you can request and use a different language of most Autodesk products at no charge, directly from Subscription Center by using our Language Exchange feature. You can either Download a Language Exchange or Request Physical Media for a Language Exchange (e.g., CD, DVD, or USB) for the licenses you have purchased on Subscription.

Note: The product list on the right side of this page does not determine language exchange eligibility.  Please follow the Download a Language Exchange instructions listed below to see if this is available for your product.


Two Things to Know Before Trying Language Exchange

  1. You will need to use the product in the country in which you registered your license. This is so that you maintain your compliance with the license you purchased.
  2. When we release a new version of the product, it will be made available to you in the language you purchased originally. If you choose to upgrade, you’ll need to use the Language Exchange again to use the product in a different language.


Download a Language Exchange – Instant delivery

  1. To download your Language Exchange, sign in to Subscription Center and click Get Your Upgrade Now.

Note: If you do not have permissions to download from Subscription Center, contact your Contract Administrator, for assistance. Learn How to find your Contract Manager in Subscription Center.


  1. The Software Downloads page will list all of the products you currently have on subscription, as well as all versions that are available for download.

    Use the Language drop down to filter all products by the selected language or leave this as Default Language(s) to see all available languages for each product and version.

Note: If you do not see the language you would like, it is because that product has not been released in that particular language.


  1. Find the product you want and click the version you would like to download.

Note: If you don't see the product or version you want, it is likely the license for the software is not on an active Subscription contract. If you have questions about your Autodesk Subscription, contact your Autodesk Authorized Reseller.

  1. Find the language and OS type you want, click Download Now and follow the onscreen instructions to download your software.

Request Physical Media for a Language Exchange – Up to 8 weeks for delivery

  1. To request the physical media for a Language Exchange, sign in to Subscription Center and select Contact Us.

  1. In the Topics field, choose Other and then click Select.

  1. In the Subject field, enter Box Needed for Language Exchange and then type the following into the Description field:
      • Your Serial Number
      • Name of the product (e.g., AutoCAD)
      • Version of the software (e.g., 2011)
      • Language you would like
      • Your shipping address.

  1. Click Submit to send your request.

Note: Your request will be handled usually within one business day.
