2012: Preparing for the Installation of Autodesk Moldflow Products
This is one of a series of videos explaining the process for installing your Autodesk Moldflow 2012 products. Due to the unique nature of the Autodesk Moldflow products, a separate set of installation videos was created. This is a more comprehensive set of videos for Autodesk Moldflow 2012 products, and should not be confused for the Autodesk Design Suites series of videos that encompasses the vast majority of other Autodesk products.

Reviewing the Documenation
It is worth familiarizing yourself with the system requirements, installation help and readme documents before you begin the installation process. Many common support questions are addressed in this documentation.
Autodesk Moldflow 2012 Installation and Licensing Changes
To align with the Autodesk product line licensing configuration, Moldflow 2012 products are fully FLEX License Manager functional now. To account for this, there were several changes made to the way Moldflow 2012 products are now installed and licensed. It is best to review these changes before your installation to ensure you configure your products how you want.
Un-installing Older Autodesk Network License Manager
The new Autodesk 2012 products install the newest version of FLEX License Manager, which is now a 64-bit application. It's best to remove the legacy version of the Autodesk Network License Manager before you're upgrade to avoid any conflicts that may exist.
Un-installing Legacy Moldflow Products
Should you decide to completely and fully upgrade to Autodesk Moldflow 2012 products, you can free up significant space on your hard drive by removing legacy versions of Moldflow you no longer want, or need.
Getting the Server Host Name
If you will be installing a network licensed product, you will need to know the host name of the server that will be running the Autodesk Network License Manager. There are a couple of ways to find it.
Locating your Serial Number and Product Key
One important step in preparing for installation is to locate the serial number and product key for the Autodesk product you are installing; you will be prompted for this information during the installation process. The serial number and product key can be found in a variety of locations, depending on how you obtained your Autodesk product.
