Segmentation fault on startup, Mudbox 2011 Subscription Advantage Pack on Linux

Issue

Mudbox 2011 Subscription Advantage Pack includes a library that peripherally refers to an Adobe flash plugin. Recent versions of the Adobe flash plugin introduced this segmentation fault.

Solution

Workaround A: Disable the MudLife.so plugin

To do this, please delete /usr/autodesk/mudbox2011.5/bin/plugins/libMudLife.so or rename it to something else without .so suffix, and then start up Mudbox again.

Please note you can’t access Mudbox Community within Mudbox after you make this change, but browsing it in your web browser is not affected.  You can access the Mudbox Community at http://area.autodesk.com/mudcom

Workaround B: Download and replace the libQtWebKit.so.4.5.2 in your Mudbox installation

Download this library and replace it in your Mudbox 2011 Subscription Advantage Pack install location.  It would be in a location such as /usr/autodesk/mudbox2011.5/lib/libQtWebKit.so.4.5.2.  You can download the patched file from your subscription center site.

This updated library includes only this addition, from WebKit, to workaround a issue described here: https://bug-40567-attachments.webkit.org/attachment.cgi?id=58960 .
