Error after upgrading from backburner 2008.1 to 2008.1.1
Issue
You upgraded your Backburner installation with the latest version that comes with 2011. When you run ther server as an application from the system it does connect to the manager. You then follow the instruction to install backburner service as a windows service and assign a specific user account to the service. Once the service is started, the manager does not see the service with this specific user account.
Solution:
The problem comes from the backburner.xml file.
When doing the default installation for backburner the search method will be set to localhost. If you are trying to use the account for a service it does not have the automatic search set therefore when the service runs it will not look for a manager.
To fix this issue: • Manually run the server tool and configure the general settings. • Copy: o C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\backburner\ o To the same location for the user account you are using for the service.
This way when the service was started it used the backburner.xml that I configured by manually running the server tool.
