AJA Kona 3 BOB requires terminated sync to detect sync changes

Problem

You are experiencing issues with the hardware not detecting sync changes, unless you manually unpatch and repatch the sync cable.

For example, switching the sync generator from 1080_59i to 1080_23psf will result in the AJA control panel showing no video input.

The sync cable must be physically removed and reattached for the system to recognize the new sync standard.

Solution

On a Mac OS X system, the Kona 3 AJA BOB needs to have a properly terminated sync input in order to detect sync changes correctly.

If the AJA BOB sync input is not terminated, you may have issues with the hardware not detecting sync changes, unless you manually unpatch and repatch the sync cable.

To avoid problems, make ensure that the sync path on the AJA hardware is properly terminated with a 75ohm BNC plug.
