This document provides the system requirements for Autodesk Maya Products.

System requirements for Autodesk® Maya® 2014

Maya 2014 is supported on the following 64-bit operating systems and at a minimum requires a system with the following 64-bit hardware:

  • Windows® 8 Professional edition, Windows® 7 Professional edition, Apple® Mac OS® X 10.7.x or 10.8.x, Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 6.2 W S, or Fedora™ 14 Linux operating system
  • 64-bit Intel or AMD multi-core processor
  • 4 GB of RAM minimum (8 GB recommended)
  • 2 GB of free disk space for installation
  • Microsoft® Internet Explorer®, Apple® Safari®, or Mozilla® Firefox® web browser
  • 3-button mouse

Certified hardware

Note: Autodesk Maya 2014 is also capable of running on certain other configurations: boutique distributions of Linux. However, enumerating systems that are not tested and cannot be supported or that fall below the Autodesk recommended minimum system requirements for a productive user experience is beyond the scope of the Autodesk online certification charts.

Autodesk is not responsible for errors or failures of Autodesk software arising from the installation of updates, extensions, or new releases issued by third-party hardware or software vendors for the certified software, or hardware identified in this document (or for any other third-party software or hardware that you may use in connection with Autodesk products).

System Requirements for Autodesk Maya 2013

Software

The 32-bit version of Autodesk® Maya® 2013 software is supported by any of the following operating systems:

  • Microsoft® Windows® 7 Professional operating system (SP1)
  • Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional operating system (SP3)

The 64-bit version of Maya 2013 software is supported by any of the following operating systems:

  • Microsoft Windows 7 Professional operating system (SP1)
  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (SP2)
  • Apple® Mac OS® X 10.7.x and 10.8.x operating system
  • Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 6.2 WS operating system
  • Fedora™ 14 operating system

Maya 2013 32-bit and 64-bit software requires the following supplemental software:

  • Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 8 internet browser or higher
  • Apple® Safari® web browser
  • Mozilla® Firefox® web browser

Hardware

At a minimum, the 32-bit version of Maya 2013 software requires a system with the following hardware:

  • Windows: Intel® Pentium® 4, AMD Athlon™ processor with SSE3 instruction set support (or higher)
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 10 GB free hard drive space
  • Certified hardware-accelerated OpenGL® graphics card
  • Three-button mouse with mouse driver software
  • DVD-ROM drive

At a minimum, the 64-bit version of Maya 2013 software requires a system with the following hardware:

Note: Maya 2013 is also capable of running on other configurations such as boutique distributions of Linux. However, enumerating systems that are not tested and cannot be supported or that fall below the requirements for a productive user experience is beyond the scope of the online certification charts.

      • Apple® Mac OS® X 10.5.7 operating system or higher

      The 64-bit version of Maya 2010 software is supported on any of the following operating systems:

      • Microsoft Windows Vista Business (SP1 or higher)
      • Microsoft Windows XP x64 Edition (SP2 or higher)
      • Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 5.3 WS operating system
      • Fedora™ 8 operating system

      The following web browsers are supported for Maya 2010:

      • Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 6.0 internet browser or higher
      • Netscape® 7 web browser or higher
      • Apple® Safari® web browser
      • Mozilla® Firefox® web browser

      Hardware

      • Microsoft Windows Vista Business (SP1 or higher)
      • Microsoft Windows XP x64 Edition (SP2 or higher)
      • Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 4.0 WS operating system (U6)
      • Fedora™ 8 operating system

      The following web browsers are supported for Maya 2009:

      • Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 6.0 internet browser or higher
      • Netscape® 7 web browser or higher
      • Apple® Safari® web browser

      • openSuSE Linux 10.2
      • Fedora Core 5
