The system cannot find the path specified error when Creating Administrative Images for Custom Network Deployments with Map 3D 2011

Issue

When creating a Deployment, with the Deployment Wizard, you receive an error message saying:

The system cannot find the path specified

Failed to copy the following files:

\\HostComputer\ShareName\...\DeploymentName\AdminImage\x**\en-US\acad\Acad\Program Files\Root\HelpHTML\*.*

To

<<Custom Support Files network share location>>

Where x** is x86 for 32-bit Deployments and x64 is for 64-bit Deployments.

Solution

This happens when specifying a network location for either:

• The “Single shared folder” option on the “Select Installation Folders for Support Content” page of the Deployment Wizard.

or

• The Help files location for the “Custom folders” option on the “Select Installation Folders for Support Content” page of the Deployment Wizard.

To work around this you need to pre-seed the Deployment AdminImage with the HelpHTML files:

1. For the Deployment share create this folder structure:

32-bit Deployments:

\\HostComputer\ShareName\...\DeploymentName\AdminImage\x86\en-US\acad\Acad\Program Files\Root

64-bit Deployments:

\\HostComputer\ShareName\...\DeploymentName\AdminImage\x64\en-US\acad\Acad\Program Files\Root

2. Copy the <media>\x**\EN-US\ACAD\ACAD\PROGRAM FILES\ROOT\HELPHTML folder to the \\HostComputer\ShareName\...\DeploymentName\AdminImage\x**\EN-US\ACAD\ACAD\PROGRAM FILES\ROOT\ folder.
Where x** is x86 for 32-bit Deployments and x64 is for 64-bit Deployments.

3. You can now begin to create the Deployment with the Deployment Wizard.
