Autodesk Algor Side-by-side Error

Issue

You try to start Autodesk Algor Simulation, but you recieve the following error:

Side-by-side Error
 Autodesk Algor Simulation is not registered correctly.  Please use the Add/Remove  Programs option in the Control Panel to repair the installation.

This error can occur on computer for which the registration of the files located in the Algor installation directory was not complete. 

Solution

This incomplete registration may relate to whether administrative privileges were used while installing Algor.  This problem can be solved on Windows XP computers by double-clicking the “Regall.bat” file, which is located in the Algor installation directory.

If your computer is Windows VISTA or 7, then you will be required to access “START|PROGRAMS|Accessories” then right-click on “Command prompt” and choose to run as administrator.  You can then type one of the following commands:

 For Autodesk Algor Simulation 2010:

 “C:\Program Files\ALGOR\2010.00\regall.bat”

 For Autodesk Algor Simulation 2011:

 "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Algor Simulation 2011\regall.bat"

Then choose <Enter> to execute the command.  You can restart Autodesk Algor Simulation once this process has completed.

NOTE: The default installation paths are listed above.  These paths may be different on your computer.  You can verify this path by right-clicking on the Autodesk Algor Simulation shortcut and accessing the properties.
