Vault Account Required to Use Autoloader

Solution

From Vault 2010 you need to log into Autoloader as a member of the Administrators group.

Autoloader was always intended to be only used by a member of the Administrator group because its main purpose was to populate the Vault before users begin to start using Vault. Autoloader can be a very processor and network intensive process and can have severe performance effects on the network and the Vault Server whilst it is running.

For all users that are not Administrators, the Vault Add-ins in the Client applications are the intended method for uploading their data to Vault.

In earlier versions of Autoloader, it never checked to ensure that the user logging into Vault was a member of the Administrator group. In the Vault 2010 family of products this has now been enforced.
