When you zoom close to a piece of geometry, part of, or the whole object, disappears.

Issue

When you navigate close to a piece of geometry, part of, or the whole object, disappears. When you zoom out, the geometry reappears.

Fallout that occurs close to an object is the usually result of:

  1. An incorrectly set clipping pane.
  2. A model set to the incorrect file units in conflict with the clipping pane setting.

Solution

Adjust the Clipping pane:

  1. Start Navisworks.
  2. Open your model.
  3. Click Tools > File Options.
  4. Select the "Fixed" radio button under the "Near" section of "Clipping Panes".
  5. Manually enter a value to test. (Usually a lower value).

Adjust the File Units of the model:

  1. Start Navisworks.
  2. Open your model.
  3. Select your model(s) in the Selection Tree.
  4. Right Click the highlighted model.
  5. Click  “File Units and Transform”
  6. Verify the “File Units” for the model are set to the proper unit. If the unit is incorrect, change the value accordingly.
