2010: Unable to recover lost network license while Revit is running (Download for Update 2 and Subscription Advantage Pack Builds) IssueRevit 2010 is not able to recover a lost network license when Revit is running. The program switches to Demo mode and any open data files will not be saved. Solution The files attached will allow Revit 2010 to recover a network license while running. If, after a 2 hour grace period, a network license is not found, Revit 2010 will display a dialog with the options to Save As & Exit or Exit. The user will not encounter Demo mode at anytime during this process.
Requirements: For Revit 2010 Build # 20090917_1515 use the Network License Workaround - Update 2.zip
For Revit 2010 Build # 20090925_1815 use the Network License Workaround - Sub Advantage Update 3.zip. This version of the workaround also includes the wall crash hotfix. Network License Workaround - Update 2 Known Issues: - TIMEOUT - The Server TIMEOUT (idle license recovery) settings for Revit 2010 will be ignored.
- STARTUP – If no network license is found, an ADLM dialog will display and Revit will exit. The user will not have any other options.
- SHUTDOWN - If closing the software when in the 2 hr grace period, the user will be prompted to save any unsaved work. The save will complete successfully if the user chooses to save, but CER dialog will display. This can be ignored.
- 64-BIT – You cannot successfully switch to standalone on a 64-bit OS. With a valid network license, you can switch from network to demo and back, but not to standalone from either.
- BORROW LICENSE – You cannot borrow a license with the workaround in place. If you need to borrow a license the workaround will need to be removed from the workstation.
Network License Workaround - Sub Advantage Update 3 Known Issues: - BORROW LICENSE – You cannot borrow a license with the workaround in place. If you need to borrow a license the workaround will need to be removed from the workstation.
