Specifying the location of the network license server

Issue

You want to specify the location of the network license server.

Solution

  1. Start the User Tool (click Start > All Programs > Autodesk > Autodesk Softimage 2011 (64 bit) > UserTools).
     
  2. In the list of Configuration Files, click Setenv.bat (Environment Script).
     
  3. Find these lines:

    rem License servers specified from the setup. Format: [port1]@host1[;[port2]@host2]...
    set _ADSK_LicServers=
     
  4. If your computer name is "lic-server", then add "@lic-server" after the equals (=) sign:

    set _ADSK_LicServers=@lic-server

    You can also use the IP address of the license server:

    set _ADSK_LicServers=@123.12.123.11

    If you are on Vista or Windows 7, and Softimage is installed on the same computer as the license server, then you use the IP address 127.0.0.1.
