Installing add-ons when you have multiple workgroups

Issue

You want to install an addon in one of your workgroups, but the Install Add-on dialog box won't let you choose a different workgroup.

Solution

An add-on is always installed in the "first" workgroup.

In the Plug-in Manager, you can use the Workgroup tab to reorder the workgroups before you install an addon.

  1. Open the Plug-in Manager (click File > Plug-in Manager).
  2. On the workgroups tab, click the workgroup where you want to install the addon.
  3. Click Move Up until the workgroup is at the top of the list.
  4. Go to the Tree tab, right-click the top workgroup and click Install .xsiaddon.
