Maya Composite will crash randomly on Windows

Published date: 2009-Aug-13
ID: TS13742166

Applies to:
Autodesk® Maya® 2010
Autodesk® Toxik™ 2009

Issue

You are using Maya Composite on a computer with Windows XP 32 bit with the /3GB parameter enabled and it will crash randomly.

Solution

The virtual address space of processes and applications is still limited to 2 GB unless the /3GB switch is used in the Boot.ini file.  Maya Composite doesn't detect this configuration parameter and it will crash randomly.

You will need to remove this /3GB switch in order to use Maya Composite.
