AutoCAD is slow opening drawings containing inserted Ole objectsIssueWhen opening drawings containing Ole objects, if AutoCAD is connected to Internet or a network, the drawings take too long to open. SolutionThe slowness is due to the fact that AutoCAD tries to update the Ole objects from the source. This problem occurs if the drawing contains Ole objects linked and AutoCAD is not able to found the path where the files are saved. The most frequent scenario is when a drawing containing Ole links is used in a machine not having access to the source object. To solve the problem, type the command OLELINKS and break the link to the source object by selecting the Ole object in the list and clicking the button "Break Link", then save the drawing. Be aware that by removing the link, the automatic update is lost and changes to the original document will not be visible in the drawing.
